During the 2021 MLB season, the San Diego Padres honor our country’s great military at every Sunday home game, called “Military Appreciation Day. In 1995, the Padres were the first professional sports team to have a Military Affairs department, and since have been recognized as ‘The Team of the Military’ throughout professional sports.
For more than two decades, the Padres have looked for more ways to recognize and honor the men and women who serve. Military and their families receive 10% off Padres tickets all-season long and 25% off on all Military Appreciation Sundays.
On Sunday, August 22nd, the Padres saluted all military families and specifically honored Gold-Star spouses. Our very own C4 Foundation VP, Brooke Keating, C4’s widow, was asked to throw the opening pitch at the Padres game! Impressively, she demonstrated some REAL heat throwing a back door slider over home plate! Rumor has it that she is about to sign a major contract with the Padres – Shhh please, please, keep this top secret info on down low…
On a serious note, Brooke was accompanied by her good friend, Rebecca Lincoln whose fiance, Remington Peters (SEAL), who was a member of the elite Navy SEAL Leap Frog Parachute Team was tragically killed on a Memorial Day demonstration jump in 2017 in New York City.
