Old Goats and Kids Who Care BBQ and Wounded Warrior Wheelchair Basketball

May 19, 2018 @ 12:00 pm PDT

The Old Goats and Kids Who Care (Young Goats ages 5-12 from Coronado schools), along with the Charles Humphrey Keating IV Foundation (C4), invite the community to a family friendly BBQ and wounded warrior wheelchair basketball game, hosted by Loews Coronado Bay Resort in conjunction with its Good Neighbor program, to be held May 19 at 12 noon.

The “Kids Who Care” program is a new aspect whereby young kids and wounded warriors will be interacting in various ways throughout the event. The Old Goats are hoping to grow “Kids Who Care” as a meaningful and rewarding program for Coronado schoolchildren ages 5 to 12. Under the direction of honorary Old Goat, retired Coronado teacher, and US Navy Reserve officer, Nancy Ratcliffe, who is truly giving back with this program.

Come out and watch the wounded warrior NMCSD Wolfpack wheelchair team take on the Loews Good Neighbor team and Team Coronado (city staff and civic organization members) in two separate games where all players will be in wheelchairs.

Having attended many of these events in the past, Former Mayor Casey Tanaka says, “The event scheduled for May 19th is a tremendous opportunity for our community to see the Wolfpack basketball team up close, in action, and it is also chance for our residents to see first-hand the challenges that these patriotic Americans have had to meet and overcome. It is truly a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon ballin’, reflecting, and having fun!”

Families and children are invited to enjoy the games and the fabulous Loews BBQ ribs. Admission is $25 (or more) donation to Old Goats to help support the C4 Foundation.

Make check payable to CHKIV Foundation (Note on the check “For Old Goats BBQ”) Mail to Ben Hallowell 850 C Ave #1 Coronado CA 92118
